Fort Worth Drowning Prevention Coalition and MedStar Team up to Prevent Drowning This Holiday Weekend

As we enter this Memorial Holiday weekend, the Fort Worth Drowning Prevention Coalition (FWDPC) and MedStar have teamed up to try and prevent drowning.

Last year, MedStar responded to 28 drowning calls:

  • 61% occurred at community and residential pools
  • 29% of the victims were between 1 and 4 years old

The FWDPC has created this infographic to remind our community that 2 Seconds is Too Long to not be watching children in or near water.

And, MedStar has co-branded one of our ambulances with the FWDPC logo to bring awareness to the coalition and its mission.

The MedStar Annual Golf Tournament will benefit the FWDPC and Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price will be on hand to unveil this special ambulance and help communicate ways to help prevent drowning incidents.

The unveiling and Mayoral comments will occur Tuesday, May 30th, 1:00p, just following the benefit golf tournament at the Waterchase Golf Club, 8951 Creek Run Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76120

Please help us kick off this summer season safely by helping the FWDPC spread the message that 2 Minutes is Too Long!!
