Tuesday night, August 3, MedStar responded to a call from a Burleson-area nursing home to assist the the evacuation of over 100 residents. After losing power, the facility's back up systems and air conditioning were not functioning. With temperatures soaring, moving redsidents to an alternate location was a priority.
The MedStar team transported critical patients to appropriate facilities and relocated others across the street to a church, opening specifically to shelter the residents until the nursing home can resume normal operation.
