In presenting the award, Scott Cravens, EMS World’s Publisher cited MedStar’s numerous innovations designed to change “emergency medical services” to ‘Mobile Integrated Healthcare’.  “We are thrilled that the nomination review panel selected MedStar for this Award of Excellence.  MedStar has been instrumental in helping our entire profession transform from traditional “EMS” into the new role as mobile healthcare providers, fully integrated into the healthcare system to assist healthcare stakeholders navigate our new healthcare environment.

Fort Worth City Council member and Mayor Pro Tem Zim Zimmerman - who also chairs the MedStar Board – explains, “MedStar, its employees, leadership team and Medical Directors, Dr. Jeff Beeson and Dr. Steven Davis, are simply not satisfied with status quo.  They see the opportunities to implement new care models that are able to demonstrate better care for the patient, a better patient experience and reduce the cost of care.  They are not afraid to make bold changes to how we operate.  We are fortunate that Ft. Worth and the other member cities that are part of the MedStar System have such innovators working in and for our community” said Mr. Zimmerman.
