For the fifth year, MedStar Mobile Healthcare facilitated two members of our community spending time with their families on Thanksgiving Day, who may not otherwise be able.
MedStar transported two patients from nursing homes to spend the holiday with their families. One of these patients and their family has agreed to share their story.
Leroy Jenkins, 32 years old, was born with Cerebral Palsy, is quadriplegic, and has been living in a nursing home for approximately the past year. Leroy was cared for by his mother, in Houston, until she passed a few years back. Leroy then relocated to Fort Worth, to be close to his aunt Betty. Betty is elated to be able to spend the afternoon with Leroy.
