EMS, police, fire and 911 center first responders are a vital part of our community.

Emergencies do not take the holiday off, and many of these selfless professionals will be sacrificing time away from their loved ones over the holidays, helping keep our communities safe!

Brighten their holiday by sending a quick thank you note, either a general note to all first responders, or to a specific first responder or agency that has made an impact on your life.

We will publicly post responses, and if you identify a specific agency or responder, we will be sure they receive your special note!

I want to thank you for all that you do to help those in need every day of the year. Specially, at this time of the year your efforts to save someone’s life and to protect the public is needed now more than ever. Thank you for your sacrifice of being away from your family to help others.

Having been a first responder for nearly three decades, I understand the sacrifices you make, often at the cost of time with your families. Your commitment to our safety and well-being of others, during a time that is meant to be spent with family is a true testament to you and what you do.

Your work, is always carried out quietly and often without recognition, is the backbone of our community’s resilience and safety. Your willingness to be there for others, no matter the time or day, makes a significant impact on the lives you touch and the community we share.

This holiday season, as you continue to be on the front lines, know that your efforts are deeply appreciated. You are truly the unsung heroes of our community.  While most of your sacrifice and dedication goes unnoticed, I want you to know that it is not as unnoticed as you know.

Thank you for all that you do to keep us safe. Wishing you moments of peace and joy during this Christmas Holiday season.

To all, but most importantly your MedStar crews AND support staff, who are less recognized than all.
Few give thought to how much you sacrifice to provide a service we often take for granted.  Time away from family often means missing lots of firsts, such as first steps, and first words.  School activities, holiday gatherings are often missed or must be rearranged.  Time is our most precious commodity and a moment missed can never be recovered, yet you do so willingly, because someone may need your help.  You may make the difference in someone having another day or not.  Please know that your sacrifice does not go unnoticed.  You are loved and appreciated more than you know.
Thank you for giving of your time during the holidays, and thank you to your families for selflessly sharing you with our community. We know you are giving up participating in family traditions, holiday meals, and special moments with your family and friends. Your gift of service does not go unnoticed and we thank you for keeping our community safe, our families healthy, and our homes secure. As we all wish for peace on Earth, we thank you for also bringing us peace of mind this holiday season. All agencies

Thank you so much for showing up at the worst time in people’s lives to help make the biggest changes.  Whether it is in the middle of the night or on a rainy, busy highway on the side of the road your presence speaks hope to the people who have the greatest needs of all.  Never take for granted how your mere presence in a chaotic situation speaks hope to those who have none.  Jesus washed His disciples feet to show them what it looked like to truly serve.  You wash the community’s feet everyday you show up on the scene to help someone in crisis.  Thank you so much.  May the Lord keep you safe bless others through your hands. fire department

It was Wednesday 12/20/2023 Approx. 640 pm I was very close to 221 West 46th Street Between 7th and 8th avenues .. very close to the entrance of the restaurant Bond 45…. I was born with a severe narrowing of my aorta ( a congenital Coarctation of the Aorta ) I Dropped  off my wife at 221 west 46th the restaurant where my sister in Law was waiting for us , we drove into NYC from Long Island , we both had to use the bathroom badly … so I was alone after parking car … I walk at a very brisk Pace to get to the restaurant and use the facilities … something came over me as I got close to the restaurant .. as it turns out My heart went into Tachycardia … I remember leaning down to lean on a railing , the next thing I remember was EMT 1st responders Talking to me as I came to .. I fell on my head and made a pretty good dent or cut in my head they bandaged me up and got into with the wife who was waiting in the restaurant and took all my vitals which ended up being fine… I did urinate myself, Thats how bad I had to go and I guess from passing out my body just let loose ..I thanked these three EMT’s over and over .. I did happen to remember one of the EMT’s last Name was Sotomayor , so there was Mr Sotomayer and another EMT would claimed to live 15 minutes from where we live on Long Island and there seemed to be a Young lady there also so 3 EMT’s and I believe from what the wife told me two NYC police officers on Horseback..We thank them many times but I would like to write a letter so it may go into there file … I don’t know were these great 1st responders came from but they were there pretty much immediately I text my wife that I was parked and going to head toward her at 6:28 PM  and the EMT used my phone to call my wife after I was on the ground and takin care of at an unbelievable 6:39 pm .. they were there immediately NYC EMS with the last name of Sotomayer
Thank You for all you do during the year, especially during the Holiday’s…You are away from your families , putting your lives on the line to protect us…. You are honored, loved, respected and we couldn’t survive without you….
