Over 40 bikes and 60 people registered so far for our 4th Annual Ride For Life Motorcycle Event to bring awareness about First Responder mental health and suicide.

This will be an escorted ride, thanks to North Texas Motorcade.

Pre-ride activities will include information and resources about first responder stress and suicide.

  • Law enforcement officers and firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.
  • EMS providers are 1.39 times more likely to die by suicide than the public.
  • Studies have found that between 17% and 24% of public safety telecommunicators have symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and 24% have symptoms of depression.
  • While telecommunicators are often the very first responders engaged with those on scene, research on their suicide risk and mental health has lagged.

The event is FREE, and late arrivals welcomed, so grab those bikes, come ride, and enjoy some food and fellowship!

All vehicles are welcome.

The ride will start at MedStar headquarters and end at Los Primos Restaurant and Cantina in Glen Rose, Texas.
